After discovering that Lenny plans to sell the Tall Ship, Stevie considers putting in an offer to buy the pub and become the new landlord. The only trouble is that he is cash-strapped, so he turns to Eileen to lend him money for the deposit. With Eileen considering Stevie's proposition, Stella speaks to Alex about funding their dream, which quickly throws up a financial dilemma for the young couple.
Stevie's dreams of a better future gather momentum when Stella reveals that she is pregnant. The couple are over the moon, but Stella can't help worrying about her health.
Meanwhile, Eileen and Liz fall out over the cost of Malcolm's ongoing care. A lonely Liz takes solace in a drink at the Tall Ship, sitting alone with her thoughts. Molly takes pity on Liz, inviting her back to the flat for a drinking session and some much-needed soul searching. However, their raucous night of boozing leads to a walk of shame, and a sore head, for Liz.
Elsewhere, Ellie feels guilty about cheating on Buster with Bob. Determined to do the right thing, Ellie decides to put her blossoming relationship with Bob on hold, much to his frustration.
