Coronation Street and EastEnders legends are set to come together next week for a delightfully awkward soap crossover in honour of BBC Children in Need.
In a sketch scheduled to air during the organisation's appeal show on Friday, November 19, Weatherfield's own Steve McDonald (played by Simon Gregson) and Walford legend Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) unwittingly find themselves sat opposite one another after signing up for Channel 4's First Dates.
Will Janine reckon they're a match made in heaven? Or will Steve, who has been married 7 times, decide that his fiery fellow diner is too much for him to handle?
"So, Steve, what do you do?" a lively Janine asks as soon as she's introduced to the grumpy-faced taxi driver at the bar.
"Drive... a... cab," Steve reluctantly replies. "I've got me own firm."
"Oh yeah? My dad used to own a cab firm, but he was most happy when he ran the pub," Janine chimes in, as Steve interjects: "I used to run a pub!"
