You will have noticed something a bit different about Chris Evans lately and it's something that's hard to miss.

Evans has been sporting a formidable moustache recently and it's not for some unexpected detour into the 1970s for Avengers 4, but rather something that he grew for his Broadway debut in Kenneth Lonergan's Lobby Hero.

The show made its debut on Monday (March 26) and sees Evans play a swaggering cop in the story of four workers in a Manhattan apartment building whose lives interconnect over several nights. It also stars Michael Cera, Bel Powley and Brian Tyree Henry.

And as a treat for Marvel fans, Bucky Barnes was there to support Cap on his opening night. Awww.

Last week, Evans joked to The New York Times that his new look has given him a superpower: invisibility. "People don't recognise me at all. I can look them right in the eye – it's like I'm invisible," he explained.

The same interview saw him give his clearest hint yet that Avengers 4 will mark his final outing in the MCU: "You want to get off the train before they push you off."

Of course, Evans and his facial hair had already got Marvel fans excited when the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War saw Cap rock a beard – and it suits him a lot more than the moustache does.

Avengers: Infinity War is released in UK cinemas on April 26 and US cinemas on April 27.
