Among the women sharing their stories are model Beverly Johnson, Lou Ferrigno's wife Carla Ferrigno and supermodel Janice Dickinson.

Cosby is accused of sexual assaults dating as far back as 1965 and as recent as 2008 from more than 40 women.

He has previously denied all allegations, and has not been criminally charged in any of these cases.

A new development emerged on July 6 when unsealed court documents revealed that Cosby once acknowledged buying the sedative known as Methaqualone for a woman he wanted to have sexual contact with.

Subsequently, US president Barack Obama said that the scandal should only reinforce public opinion that there is "no tolerance for rape".
