Michael Jackson's sister Rebbie Jackson has revealed that she got no "relief" from the conviction of Dr Conrad Murray.

Murray was found guilty of manslaughter on Monday and was immediately remanded to an LA jail to await sentencing on November 29.

Michael's older sister Rebbie discussed the verdict during an interview on Today, revealing that Murray's conviction will not ease the loss of her brother.

"I thought I was going to feel as though I got a tremendous amount of relief, but I felt really numb, and not only that, I started crying profusely," Rebbie said.

"Because the reality of what had transpired really hit me at that point… it just sort of brought everything back to reality."

Today host Anne Curry also asked Rebbie if she felt compassion for Murray, who was led out of the court in handcuffs following the verdict.

Rebbie acknowledged that Michael did have an "addiction to prescription drugs", but insisted that Murray acted irresponsibly by giving the singer propofol outside of a hospital setting.

She replied: "I do not [feel sorry for Murray]… I don't, because if you love someone you're doing to do what you think is best for them, not what they want you to do."

Asked about Michael's children's reaction to the verdict, Rebbie said that she is sure Prince, Paris and Blanket feel "a lot of relief" to have some form of closure.

La Toya Jackson told reporters as she exited the courtroom on Monday that she felt "justice was done".

Murray could face up to four years behind bars when he is sentenced later this month. His attorneys have already announced that they plan to appeal the verdict.
