Ariana Grande had one American Music Awards nomination for Favorite Social Artist this year, but that wasn't enough to compel her to attend the awards ceremony last night (October 9).

Neither she nor her fiancé Pete Davidson were on the red carpet at the Los Angeles show venue – and that's because they're 2,400+ miles away in New York City. The couple were photographed twice by paparazzi while going out.

Grande also shared a selfie of herself in her Chelsea apartment on Tuesday:

The singer has been active on her Instagram Story, encouraging her fans and, really, anyone who hasn't to register to vote in the US.

Grande was last at the AMAs in 2016, and she walked the carpet alone in a lace crop top and white pants:
