Eamonn Holmes shared some happy news with fans this week, as he revealed he was about to watch his oldest son get married.

Posting an emotional message on Twitter, the ITV star wrote: "It's a special day. My first born son @decholmes gets married today to @JennyGouk.

"The clans are gathering and I'm delighted to say there's a lot of love and happiness all around us. #IrishWedding."

Declan, 29, is Eamonn's oldest son with first wife Gabrielle Holmes. They also share daughter Rebecca, 27, and Niall, 25, while Eamonn is also dad to 16-year-old Jack, his child with second wife Ruth Langsford.

Safe to say, Eamonn's followers were touched by his words and quick to offer messages of congratulations on this milestone day, including Loose Women's Saira Khan, who was the first to reply.

"Congratulations Eamonn, you must be so proud," she wrote. "Enjoy every minute of it. Don't be afraid to shed a few tears of happiness and joy too."

This isn't the first time the This Morning host has posted on social media about his beloved brood. He delighted followers back in June when he posted an adorable photo with all four of his children on Father's Day – and no-one could believe how much his kids look like him!

"Wow! They all look so much like you," wrote one user, while another added: "You can really see Eamonn in the older boys."

Sending huge congratulations to the happy couple and the whole Holmes clan!
