Yes, it really, really is happening. Cher has officially confirmed details for an ABBA covers album following her role in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

After loads of teasing on Twitter, it has been revealed that album Dancing Queen will drop next month September 28 to be precise.

On top of that, the pop icon has dropped her cover of 'Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)', because she's kind of awesome like that.

"I've always liked ABBA and saw the original Mamma Mia musical on Broadway three times," Cher said. "After filming Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, I was reminded again of what great and timeless songs they wrote and started thinking, 'Why not do an album of their music?'

"The songs were harder to sing than I imagined but I'm so happy with how the music came out. I'm really excited for people to hear it. It's a perfect time."

Here's what ABBA-tastic hits Cher will be giving her take on:

Cher made her Mamma Mia debut in the new movie, taking on the role of Meryl Streep's character's mum despite being only three years older than her.

However, director Ol Parker explained: "Cher can play Meryl's daughter, for all I'm concerned. Or her great-grandmother. She exists separate from time."

In response to Here We Go Again's success, talk is already swirling of a third movie in the series, something that stars Amanda Seyfried and Lily James are totally behind.
