In April, Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum called time on their nine-year marriage, announcing their split on Instagram.
In the months since, the dancer-turned actress' career and personal life appears to have gone from strength to strength. She's now producer of reality competition show World of Dance, launched her own capsule collection for Danskin apparel, and co-parents her 5-year-old daughter, Everly.
In one of her most honest interviews to date since her split from Tatum, the 37-year-old has finally opened up about their changing relationship.
"I feel I've been on a wave of growth," she told Women's Health. "It does look different; it's a new normal, and I really think we'll get used to that."
While the pair appear – from the outside, at least – to have approached their 'conscious uncoupling' with ease and positivity, Dewan assured her fans it's not always plain sailing.
"It's always challenging to go through a big change and have the whole world have an opinion about it," she added.
In the interview – which saw the mother-of-one strip down naked for the cover shoot – the professionally-trained dancer also discussed the mum-shaming she's endured in recent months.
After posting a photo of her lingerie-clad bum on Instagram earlier this year, followers voiced their disappointment in her sexy demeanour.
"Apparently, when you become a mother, you're supposed to leave your sexuality at the door, and I never understood that," she explained of the reaction to the photo.
"I think there's nothing sexier than becoming a mother. You give life. It's everything. And you don't change who you are inside just because you have a kid."
The star – who first hit our screens in the 2009 box office hit Step Up alongside her ex-husband – also shed some light on her love of working out.
"I really like to feel strong, and I like to feel curvy. And when I say 'curvy', I mean 'muscular'. In the gym, I add more weight rather than increasing reps because I want to build muscle, so I can pick up my daughter," she said.
"Before, it used to be like, 'I wanna get long, lean muscles'. Now, I'm just like, 'I wanna feel strong and good'."
Words to workout and live by.
