Ariana Grande's very recent ex Mac Miller just commented publicly on their breakup (and her sudden engagement) for the very first time, and if you were hoping for tons of shade and drama, you're going to have to look elsewhere.
"I was in love with somebody. We were together for two years. We worked through good times, bad times, stress and everything else. And then it came to an end and we both moved on. And it's that simple," he said in an interview on Beats 1 on Apple Music.
Up until now, he hadn't made a comment about the new engagement specifically, but had released a few songs that definitely had Ariana messages and themes. He said there's no bad blood between the two, though.
"It's all positive energy," he said. "I am happy for her and [the fact that she's] moving forward with her life, just as I'm sure she is with me."
When they broke up earlier this spring, Ariana confirmed the news in a very sweet but very gut-wrenching way. She wrote on her Instagram stories that she can't wait to support Mac in whatever he does.
"Hi! This is one of my best friends in the whole world and favorite people on the planet Malcolm McCormick [Mac Miller's real name]," she wrote.
