Puddy, the sweet English bulldog angel baby of Chrissy Teigen and John Legend, has passed away at the age of 9, Teigen confirmed on social media on Wednesday.

Puddy, who first joined the Teigen-Legend household in 2008 (he would have turned 10 in May), is survived by his wife, Pippa, a French bulldog he married in 2015.

In an Instagram statement, Teigen wrote of receiving Puddy as a half-birthday present: "I found the dog that would be there for us through every up, down, new house, new city, new tour, new travel. He welcomed new pups and loved on new babies and new bellies. He was there for everything."

In November 2017, Puddy suffered from heart failure caused by a tumor. "[H]e's basically a 70-year-old man beast but I am so happy to have him home right now," Teigen wrote on Twitter at the time.

In addition to wife Pippa, Puddy leaves behind human sister Luna, human grandma Vilailuck, and dog relatives Penny, Pooey, and Pepper (who joined the family late last year).
