Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston's break-up announcement was entirely unexpected, and tbh we haven't felt this sad about a celebrity split since Chris Pratt and Anna Faris.

On Thursday the couple released a shock statement announcing their separation, explaining in it that they wanted to tell fans before the press began to speculate about their relationship.

"This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship," they explained.

SOB.

Thankfully, in times of celeb woe, we have the internet to turn to – and as one Twitter user wrote: 'Is it too much to want to see Jennifer Aniston happy?'

We think not.

Within minutes of the announcement, people had put two and two together and realised that Aniston and her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, are both single at the same time.

And while personally, we can never forget that he left Jen - in what was truly the most devastating celebrity deception of all time - for his Mr and Mrs Smith co-star Angelina Jolie, some people seem to be very hopeful that they'll get back together.

Um, it's gonna be a no from us.

Jennifer, you go do you, girl.
