Dushku, now best known for her role as Faith in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, said in her post that she told her parents, two adult friends and one of her older brothers what had happened at the time.
"Hollywood has been very good to me in many ways. Nevertheless, Hollywood also failed to protect me, a child actress," she wrote.
"Through the years, brave fans have regularly shared with me how some of my characters have given them the conviction to stand up to their abusers. Now it is you who give me strength and conviction. I hope that speaking out will help other victims and protect against future abuse."
Kramer has denied Dushku's claims to several publications, telling The Wrap that he never sexually assaulted the actress.
"These are absolute lies," he said. "I don't know what to say. I never took her to my hotel room. I never took off her clothes."
Speaking to Us Weekly he revealed that he is now considering legal action, adding: "This is all vile lies. I never molested this young woman, ever.
"I am angry, I am just hurt. This is just out of nowhere and she has put out what she is going to say, so it is a he said, she said. My career is done. She just ruined me."
To The Hollywood Reporter, Kramer called the allegations "atrocious lies" and said the sexual assault allegation is "just untrue".
"We took care of her like she was our kid," he said. "I don't ever remember being alone with her. 'Luring' her up to my hotel room, is just crazy."
Following Kramer's several denials, Dushku has posted again to Facebook saying she "stands by" her claims, and is telling "the truth".
