Olly Murs has finally got around to addressing those Melanie Sykes dating rumours.

The new coach on this year's The Voice appeared on Loose Women on Friday (January 5), where he revealed he and Mel may have had more of a romance than they initially let on.

It was reported that the couple had been dating in secret, visiting each other's homes for up to a year, but this was denied by both parties at the time those rumours surfaced.

Now, however, it seems like there was more to it than they were letting on.

Oo-er.

"Every time I pick up a paper it seems at the moment to be 'Olly spoke to this girl, he must be dating her'," Olly said.

"I'm like 'no, I'm single'. Last time I checked it was just me in bed on my own."

"There was [something] in the paper recently about (someone) who looks like Christine," said the show's new panellist, Kelly Brook.

"Did you date Melanie Sykes?"

"Listen, Mel's amazing, we're great friends," he replied. "The rumours that we were dating for a year are just not true.

"There might have been something – but that's all I'm going to say. I'm not going to talk about that. Moving on!"

So, from what we gather, it kind of seems that – while they didn't date for a year – the suggestion of a fling between them wasn't too far off.

The sneaky devils!
