Ricky Gervais has spoken out after reports of a confession that he's been drunk every day since the age of 18.
The Daily Star has published a report in which it details an admission from Gervais about his drinking habits.
It's mentioned that he said: "I was sober for 18 years – the first 18 years of my life. And I have been drunk every day since. There has not been a day when I haven't had a drink."
But the comedian has since taken to Twitter to denounce the entire claims and insist that it's all a pretence.
With the article detailing Gervais' journey with alcohol including his confidence, exercise and relationship with his father, the comedian further replied to a few of his followers and explained that the whole article was pieced together from past podcasts and stand-up material.
"Wasn't even an interview. They took bits from podcasts and stand up. So dishonest."
