While shooting last month for upcoming film The Pact, actor Ike Barinholtz suffered a stunt mishap that resulted in a broken neck.
The Mindy Project and Suicide Squad star fell from a high platform, which caused him to fracture two cervical vertebrae in his neck, according to People.
"We knew something was wrong right away," Barinholtz said. "It was scary and was touch and go for a while."
"Luckily, I've had great doctors who have really helped me with my recovery," he explained. "I do as they tell me."
Not one to let broken bones get in the way of work, Barinholtz says that his character in The Mindy Project will soon be experiencing a similar fate.
"After the accident, I talked to Mindy [Kaling] and we agreed that the only option was writing it into the show.

"Luckily, I play a character who could break his neck falling out of his bunk bed and it's completely believable."
And while he is still in recovery, Barinholtz is thankful to friends and family – well, some of them...
"My family has been taking amazing care of me, and Mindy and all the folks at the show have been so kind."
He added: "Also, many friends have sent lots of food which is great – but I can't exercise, so in a way, it's exceptionally cruel."
