Nearly a month on from Britney Spears' public plea for fans to pray for her 8-year-old niece Maddie Briann Aldridge, Britney's sister Jamie Lynn Spears has shared a heartwarming snap confirming her daughter's recovery.

While celebrating Ash Wednesday, Jamie posted a selfie where she's joined by Maddie and her mum. Each of them is sporting a cross in the centre of their foreheads.

The family photo is accompanied by the hashtag '#GodisGood', alongside a praying emoji.

Just under four weeks ago, 8-year-old Maddie was reported to have accidentally flipped her all-terrain vehicle (ATV) into a pond, ending up trapped underwater.

And Jamie Lynn has described her little girl's recovery as a "miracle" on Instagram.

"So blessed to say that my daughter has fully recovered, and returned to all her normal activities." Zoey 101 star Jamie Lynn wrote earlier this week.

It was initially reported that Maddie was in a stable but critical condition at a Louisiana hospital, not long after Britney took to social media platforms asking for support from fans.

"Need all the wishes and prayers for my niece," the singer tweeted alongside a photo of Maddie.

Maddie was discharged four days later to continue her recovery at home, with her family thanking the "amazing first responders, and medical teams at University and Children's Hospital in New Orleans" for their support and care.

With 11,337 retweets, endless heartfelt messages from fellow celebs and fans, and most importantly the medical teams at University and Children's Hospital in New Orleans, LA, Maddie is wearing a happy and healthy smile.
