Gary Barlow is probably busier than most of us so it's understandable some things might slip his mind.

Yesterday (January 28) marked the first preview night for his new musical The Girls, based on much-loved British movie Calendar Girls, and it was a special enough occasion for him to wash his hair.

What's special about that, you might say. Well, it's the first time he's washed it in FOURTEEN years.

"It's such an important day I've washed my hair! First time in ……. 14 years! #nojoke," Gary posted on Twitter.

Is it just us, or are you starting to feel a bit itchy too?

Needless to say, the revelation led to fans having a bit of fun with the Take That star, with gags about "wig makers" and his amount of hair, as well as a rather odd request.

What to Read Next

As well as The Girls, Gary has been busy searching for a boyband for his next musical on BBC One's Let It Shine.

Last night's episode saw viewers a bit confused with Gary's criticism of Callum Howells, who tried his luck on the show with Hamilton cut 'You'll Be Back', but left Gary wanting more of a pop voice.

Erm, aren't you looking to cast a musical, Gaz?

Let It Shine continues next Saturday (February 4) at 6.40pm on BBC One.
