Katy Perry pulled out of a show in China and cited a "family emergency" as the reason.
The singer was set to appear in Shenzhen for the annual Singles' Day launch event last night (November 10), which is sponsored by Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba, to kick off the country's largest online shopping day of the year.
"Regretfully, I must cancel my appearance on the Alibaba Double 11 due to a family emergency," Perry said in a message to her fans on Chinese social network Weibo. "I am very sorry to disappoint my fans and look forward to seeing you in China soon."
"Alibaba and all her fans in China are naturally very disappointed," Alibaba reps said in a statement to Billboard.
"We would like to send Katy our best wishes at this difficult time, and hope that we can see her in China soon."

Luckily, David Beckham was on hand to replace her.
He appeared at the event along with Victoria, with neither of them taking their replacement of Katy Perry literally and doing some singing, unfortunately.
Victoria did take the opportunity to check out her husband's bottom and share the experience with her Instagram followers, though.
