Ellen DeGeneres has taken a step closer to taking over the world with the launch of her own luxury lifestyle brand ED by Ellen.

The website offering a range of clothes and homeware goods chosen by the chatshow host was launched this morning (June 30).

First announced last month, Ellen explained that she was inspired by fans who were copying her "very distinct way of dressing", but struggling to find the clothing they wanted to buy.

She described the line, which features bomber jackets, blazers and shorts, as not being "extremely feminine, it's not masculine, it's just comfortable".

Sharing a video on Instagram, DeGeneres wrote: "My clothing line @EDbyEllen is finally here! I hope you love it as much as I do."

Simply pronounced 'Ed', as well as being her initials, it is also the pet name given to Ellen by her wife Portia de Rossi, and was favoured for its non-gender quality when featured on the products.

In the household section, items range from a Handmade Cotton Patchwork Quilt ($155) to linen coasters featuring hand-drawn paintings of Kale ($50).

However, despite launching today, a large number of items on the site are not currently available to purchase and are said to be "coming soon".
