Former Blue Peter presenter John Noakes has been found, nine hours after going missing in Majorca.
The alarm was raised earlier this morning (June 30), after the 81-year-old went for a walk at around 8.30am local time and had been not seen or heard from since.
It has now been confirmed that Noakes, who has Alzheimer's disease, has been found and is currently being treated in a local hospital. He is said to have been very dehydrated when found.
He was located near to his home by a helicopter at around 6.45pm local time, while an update on the town's Facebook page stated that he was in a "stable condition" in hospital, where his wife Vicky Noakes is with him.
Speaking earlier, Vicky expressed extra concern for her husband due to it being the "hottest day of the year so far". Police were assisted by Civil Guard officers in their search throughout the day.
Noakes remains the longest-serving Blue Peter presenter after fronting the show for just over 12 years, from December 1965 until June 1978.
