He now holds the title Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (KCVO), Kensington Palace confirmed.
The prince was given the award privately yesterday (June 4), in recognition of his personal service to the monarchy. This has included a decade-long military career - during which he took part in two tours in Afghanistan - and his charity efforts.
Prince Harry is due to leave the Army later this month, but during his time in service has publicly supported charities including Help for Heroes, ABF the Soldiers' Charity and Walking with the Wounded.

The prince had a more light-hearted encounter earlier this week with Samuel L Jackson, posing with the actor at the Audi Polo Challenge in Ascot.
Writing on Instagram, Jackson described Harry as a "good kid then, good Man now".
