The boyband star reacted to an article published by The Independent earlier today (November 10), directly tweeting the reporter behind it.
Tomlinson was recently seen wearing a T-shirt with a rainbow Apple icon and the newspaper suggested that this was in support of gay CEO Tim Cook.
He tweeted to the journalist: "The fact that you work for such a 'credible' paper and you would talk such rubbish is laughable. I am in fact straight.
"Google 'original apple logo' and you will see the one printed on my shirt that you reported on. Trying to look for a promotion?"

The 22-year-old ended his tweets in disbelief, saying: "F**king ridiculous I even have to tweet that s**t!"
Tomlinson's response comes just days after One Direction's Harry Styles made comments that gender was not important when choosing a mate.
Styles' remarks stirred speculation and have also prompted fans to create 'Rainbow Direction', a social media group and safe haven where fans can discuss LGBT issues in a judgement-free atmosphere.
Meanwhile, One Direction have confirmed that they will take part in Band Aid 30, aimed to help with the Ebola crisis in West Africa.
