She advised the government to concentrate more on children to stop them "going into the system" of benefits and being stuck there.

Dee also called for more apprenticeships and expressed concern that Tory Party plans to remove benefits from 18-21-year-olds will harm young people through no fault of their own.

"You have someone who I think is completely out of touch with the real world making decisions on people who do actually live in the real world ... that's [Secretary of State for Work and Pensions]Iain Duncan Smith, isn't it?," Dee said.

She continued: "'I have experienced some not very nice job centres. You do just go in, you sit down, you are looked down upon.

"They just need to understand that, just because you are on benefits does not mean that you are not a real person. Just because you are on benefits doesn't mean that you are not physically looking for a job."

Dee complained that the situation for job-seekers had got worse under the current coalition government, and said that jobs for young people without a high level of skills were disappearing.

The Celebrity Big Brother contestant also told the panel that she may switch her vote from Labour to UKIP at the upcoming general election.
