Michael Owen has signed a two-year deal with Racing UK.
The former England footballer will act as an ambassador and regular contributor to the horseracing broadcaster, making regular appearances on the channel including punditry roles.
Owen currently owns and manages Manor House Stables, a Cheshire training yard which has 90 thoroughbreds, including the Royal Ascot winner, Brown Panther.
"I am delighted to be joining Racing UK and linking up with a racing partner who supports the industry," said Owen. "Hopefully, we can work together in growing the appeal of this wonderful sport."
Racing UK's director of marketing Clive Cottrell described Owen as "one of the country's best-loved sportsmen", further stating that "his tremendous appeal will add to the channel's output and bring horseracing to a new audience".
Owen is currently a football commentator and pundit on BT Sport.
