Reid, who is thought to earn £250,000 a year at the BBC, has been working for the channel for the last decade.

ITV bosses allegedly want Reid to host their new breakfast show in the summer, according to The Mirror.

The show, thought to be called Good Morning Britain, will replace Daybreak, which has recently seen ratings drop.

Tipping Point host Ben Shephard has been tipped to co-host the show.
