Karmell Allison, who is 20 weeks pregnant and diabetic, stood behind the US president during his address about the Healthcare reform.
Footage of the incident shows Allison looking visibly unwell and on the brink of collapse.
As she appears to faint, Obama reaches out to catch her, saying: "I got you, you're OK."
He then turns back to the crowd, joking: "This happens when I talk too long."
Allison told CNN afterwards: "I'm 20 weeks pregnant at this point and I hadn't had that much to drink that morning because I was worried about possibly needing to go to the bathroom during the speech."
She also confirmed on her Twitter account that she is well and thanked the president for his efforts.
