Wicked Little Letters star Jessie Buckley has revealed she secretly wed her boyfriend Freddie, whom she met on a blind date.

The Men actor met Freddie, whose surname she has not disclosed, through mutual friend Marc Robinson whom she worked with on the 2018 film Wild Rose. Freddie is a mental health worker from Islington, north London, The Lost Daughter star has said.

Speaking on the Table Manners podcast with hosts Jessie and Lennie Ware, she revealed the pair had tied the knot "in summer" last year in Norfolk, which she described as her "heart home".

“When we first started dating we would go to the Towpath (café) in Dalston all the time and I just fell in love with Lori and Laura (owners) so much,” she said, sharing that the pair catered the nuptials.

"It was amazing. They are such great people and one of my memories of the day was: I wanted a keg of Guinness and I definitely wanted their cheese toasties at a certain hour, after they served all the delicious things."

Speaking about their honeymoon, she shared that the lovebirds enjoyed "many moons" with their loved ones.

"We actually just kind of bottled into friends' holidays. Loads of friends were going away and they rented a place and were, like, 'come with us'," she continued.

"It was really nice. Usually, I'm away shooting or something, and because of the (writer’s) strike everything got moved, so I've had a whole year just to, like, hang out."

Her wedding to Freddie follows her split with Happy Valley star James Norton in 2017, which she previously described as "acrimonious".

The War and Peace co-stars began dating in 2015, before starring in the BBC drama together in 2016. In 2017, it was announced the pair had split with Norton moving on with actress Imogen Poots.

Speaking to The Times, Jessie said: "We have broken up, yes. It was acrimonious, but it’s a tough job to have a relationship and he is a great man and we are great friends. That’s it.

"How diplomatic can I sound? If you are away for a year filming, you are just not physically around at points."
