Glastonbury Festival 2022 has revealed its line-up poster, confirming two headliners Kendrick Lamar and Paul McCartney, who'll join Billie Eilish down on Worthy Farm for the belated celebration of its 50th anniversary following two years of cancellations due to COVID-19.

The festival has also moved towards a 50:50 male and female line-up following promises by Emily Eavis, the daughter of farmer Michael Eavis, who initially established the festival.

She told the BBC: "When I look back at past Glastonbury line-ups, I realised it's always been male-heavy. Unless you consciously change and really address it, then it will stay the same because we're always going to be flooded with male acts."

The headliners replicate most of the plans for the delayed 2020 festival, although Taylor Swift was originally meant to headline and has now been replaced by Billie Ellish, who worked on No Time To Die's title song.

Elsewhere on the line-up, Diana Ross will take on the famous Sunday Legend's Slot, following in the footsteps of James Brown, Lionel Richie, and Dolly Parton.

She'll be joined by the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, Foals, Idles, Arlo Parks, Charlie XCX, Celeste, Clairo, Doja Cat, Ghetts, Pet Shop Boys, Lorde, Wolf Alice, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and Digital Spy Rising winner Little Simz, who will headline the West Holts stage.

Overall it marks 47 female or female-fronted artists across the 89 acts on this initial line-up poster. The festival is currently sold out, as those lucky enough to secure tickets to previously cancelled versions of the festival had tickets rolled over.

Full balances must be paid before 7 March in order to secure the ticket, any spare tickets will be rolled into a resale on Thursday 24 March for coach tickets and Sunday 27 March for general sale tickets respectively.

Those who aren't able to secure tickets can look forward to extensive coverage across the BBC, which included some exclusive live performances from an empty Glastonbury farm in 2021, along with highlights from the exclusive Live on Worthy Farm broadcast virtual festival.

The festival also debuted a family-friendly campsite on the Pilton farm in 2021, called Worthy Pastures, which welcomed campers to stay on the site, albeit without the music and huge crowds.

Glastonbury Festival 2022 takes place from Wednesday 22 – Sunday 26 June 2022.
