Update 11/02/22: And now we're getting our first look at the cover! Matthew Perry officially confirmed the cover, release date and title of his new book on Instagram on February 10, writing in the caption: "So much has been written about me in the past. I thought it was time people heard from me. The highs were high, the lows were low. But I have lived to tell the tale, even though at times it looked like I wouldn't. And it's all in here."
In true Chandler Bing style, he then quipped: "I apologise it's not a pop-up book."
The cover showed the former Friends actor smiling against a blue and grey background alongside the title 'Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing' and confirmed the release date as November 1.

The book is available to pre-order now at WHSmith, Waterstones and Foyles. You can also pre-order the audiobook from Audible, which will also be released on November 1.
Original story 29/10/21: Friends star Matthew Perry is gearing up for a new project which will see him get intimate about his struggle with addiction while also taking a step away from the screen.
The actor just signed a deal with New York-based Flatiron Books to write an autobiography.
Perry will give readers insight into his time on the hitmaking sitcom as well as explore his experiences battling addiction.

According to Deadline, the book is set to be "candid and self-aware" as well as "unflinchingly honest, dishy, and hilarious", told with Perry's trademark humour.
Megan Lynch, publisher at Flatiron Books, said in a statement: "We need humour, we need catharsis, and we need to agree on something – and Matthew's extraordinary story, told in his inimitable voice, is that thing.
"Matthew's book has unrivalled potential to bring people together, which feels especially galvanizing right now, a time of isolation and division."
"[T]his is the book that Friends fans have been waiting for but will also shed a powerful light for anyone who is in their own battle for themselves or a loved one," the publisher also added.

Perry is the first of his Friends co-stars to write a book. While the memoir does not have a title yet, it is expected to be out in the autumn of next year.
Earlier this week, Perry was among the many regular and guest stars of Friends who paid tribute to James Michael Tyler – who played Gunther on the sitcom – after his death.
"We lost a good Friend yesterday in James Michael Tyler. Gunther, you will be missed. Read in Peace," wrote Perry on his Twitter.
Friends streams on Netflix in the UK, where it also airs daily on Comedy Central. In the US, you can stream the show on HBO Max. The Friends reunion special is available on Sky Max and NOW in the UK, and HBO Max in the US.
