Earlier this week, it emerged that a singer named Kelsy Karter had got a face tattoo of Harry Styles. There were some very important follow-up questions that needed to be answered, though, and Kelsy happily obliged.

She spoke with a New Zealand radio station about the decision, joking that it had "absolutely nothing" to do with the fact that she dropped a single this week called 'Harry', which is about, you guessed it, her love of Harry Styles.

"I'm a big fan of Harry and I'm not afraid to express it and I honestly don't know how to do anything half-assed," she said.

Here's another very important direct quote: "I just wear my heart on my cheek and I couldn't really control what went on from there."

The hosts of the show never blatantly asked Kelsy whether the tattoo was real or not, so she never got a chance to actually confirm or deny, but she spoke about it as if it was real. She said it wasn't inspired by an infatuation for Harry as much as his influence on music.

"As a fellow musician, I really respect what he's doing for rock and roll," she said. "I'm a female in the modern day movement of rock and roll and he's exposed the kids to sounds they might have not otherwise heard, because he came from the pop world and did a rock 'n' roll album.

"It's opened doors for people like me. I really respect what he's doing and love what he's doing – and he's nice to look at."

Totally, totally, that makes sense. This is all very logical.

When the hosts asked her how much the tattoo hurt, she quipped: "I went through a pretty bad break-up recently and that definitely hurt more."
