Kasabian paid tribute to Cilla Black during their headline set at Virgin Media V Festival in Chelmsford this evening (August 22).

In true Kasabian style a number of random words flashed across the screen throughout their set including 'Crumbs' and 'Krang', but the Leicester band dedicated their track 'Goodbye Kiss' to the late entertainer as the word 'Pure' appeared on the stage's backdrop.

The band opened with 'Bumblebee' taken from their latest album 48:13, urging the crowd to "make some f**king noise".

Serge Pizzorno of the band was wearing a white t-shirt with the word 'tout' emblazoned on it while Tom Meighan was clad in a denim jacket and sunglasses.

"Thank you Chelmsford, my lovely darlings," Meighan told the masses as the band played a range of tracks spanning their five albums. 'Shoot The Runner' was followed by 'eez-eh' and crowd favourites 'Underdog' and 'Days Are Forgotten'.

Cilla Black wasn't the only one Kasabian paid tribute to throughout their headline set. The band also performed covers of The Fugees' 'Ready Or Not' and Fatboy Slim's 'Praise You'.
