When you have a massive worldwide hit, it would be very easy to analyse why it was a success and try to replicate the glory.
However, that's not an approach Hozier will take when working on his next studio album, adding that although he was proud of the success of the Grammy-nominated 'Take Me To Church', his sole purpose isn't to just be a hit machine.

"There's two ways you can look at it," Hozier told Digital Spy in the Virgin Media Louder Lounge at this year's V Festival.
"I didn't expect it to take off like it did, and I could analyse it and try and do it again, but I think if you're making music for the sole purpose of trying to sell singles or have a hit single, you might be doing it the wrong way.
"I was just very proud of that song. I'm not sure what kind of shape the next album will take."
The star - real name Andrew Hozier-Byrne - also revealed his most challenging festival experience, and where he's currently at with recording his new album.
Hozier performed to a packed-out crowd on the Virgin Media stage this evening, and will be followed with sets by Sam Smith and Kasabian.
