Peter Andre has admitted that he is "fighting" to top the charts with his comeback track.
The Australian pop singer, who last reached number one with a reissue of 'Mysterious Girl' in 2004, releases new single 'Behind Closed Doors' on August 10.
"I want a number one. Why wouldn't I ask for it? I want it," he told DS backstage at T4 On The Beach. "I'm fighting for it just like everyone else and if it happens, that's fantastic."
Andre also revealed that he is suffering from "big time" nerves about launching his pop comeback after a lengthy absence from the charts.
"I feel like I've got a lot to prove musically because I've made a few mistakes in the past," he said. "I'm just hoping that slowly people will accept what I'm doing. I don't expect them to jump on it straight away."
