Tickets for the wider UK were snapped up within around 15 minutes, while those reserved for residents living in Norwich were gone half an hour later.
50,000 tickets were available - 25,000 for each day - with 55% going to people living within the area covered by Norwich City Council.
Radio 1's Big Weekend will take place at Earlham Park in Norwich on May 23 and 24.
