Bombay Bicycle Club have said that their recent number one hasn't changed them as a band.

The four-piece topped the UK chart back in February with their fourth album So Long, See You Tomorrow, but confessed that they haven't adjusted to the idea.

Asked if they are used to their status as a chart-topping act, guitarist Jamie MacColl told Digital Spy at BBC radio 1's Big Weekend "No, I don't think so. I think, ultimately, it doesn't really change that much.

"It's nice for your PR guy - and it's great because when you look back at history, there's only certain bands who will have had that opportunity and got to number one.

"People are inevitably going to remember something that went to number one as apposed to being number two. It sold pretty much the same as the last one, but you're in a climate of declining record sales."

The band will play Radio 1's Big Weekend in Glasgow later today (May 24) on a line-up that also includes Coldplay, One Direction, Pharrell Williams and Lorde.

The two-day music event will be broadcast on Radio 1 and 1Xtra across the weekend, as well as highlights on BBC Three and live streaming on their official site.
