Next up was 'Breaking Up', which saw Charli equipped with a giant white inflatable guitar for the occasion. The star worked the crowd as she furiously whipped her hair for the 'Sucker' track.
"This song is called 'I Love It'", the singer went on to announce, cueing a mass singalong of the Icona Pop hit as she ran up and down the stage instructing everyone to jump.
"Reading Festival, what the f**k is up? This was my first ever festival when I was 16 years old. Who's drunk in here?" Charli energetically asked the crowd before tearing into her recent single 'Doing It'.
A rendition of The White Stripes' 'Seven Nation Army' followed as the star bounded across the stage pumping her fist in the air, expertly working the crowd.
"This one's for the ladies in here... all the girls with the pussy power," Charli commanded, setting up a performance of 'Body Of My Own'. Later in her set, the singer climbed the drum kit and told the audience to climb onto their friends' shoulders for 'Break The Rules'.
Charli brought her set to its finale with a reworked version of 'Fancy', rapping the verses and encouraging a 'pussy power' chant. Last up was 'Boom Clap', with the singer guiding the crowd to light up their phones and hold them up.
"Reading Festival, my name is Charli XCX and you guys are f**king badass," she told the masses. "This is my last song, but I love you."
Metallica will headline Reading this evening, while Mumford & Sons will bring the second day of Leeds to a close.
