The Black Eyed Peas have reunited with Fergie and recreated their breakthrough hit 'Where is the Love'.

And, despite new verses from A$AP Rocky and a whole host of celebrities on the track and in the video, it's really, really bad.

Watch for yourself:

The good news is the meaningful lyrics are intact and are still as unfortunately relevant as they were back in 2003. The added lyrics stick to that message, so kudos for that.

The bad news is this is definitely post-'Boom Boom Pow' will.i.am at work here. Whereas the original version of the song had a bouncy, down-to-earth sound that contrasted with the lyrics in an underplayed yet hopeful way, this new version tries to bludgeon you with overblown production.

It's too 'in your face' and you're either annoyed or zoned out by about halfway through. And of there are unnecessary auto-tuned robo vocals sprinkled throughout.

The video is fine, it's a very serious affair, but it's fine. Except for when the Peas arrange themselves to replicate the 'Bohemian Rhapsody' video.

Let's listen to the original, far superior version of 'Where is the Love', shall we?

Blissful from the first second.
