It was a good night for Coldplay at the Brit Awards 2016 - though their interview with hosts Ant and Dec was anything but.

Following their win for Best British Group, the band were subjected to an awkward chat with the presenters.

After questions about whether they were still pleased to get awards - "who could not be pleased?" - and a flat joke about their manager being a child, things got even more cringe.

Dec asked Chris Martin about the hosts' life-size Brit award, but the frontman was clearly  phased about what he was referring to (though he pretended to look like he knew).

Despite the painful interview, the band gave a moving tribute earlier as they received their prize.

Martin thanked the other nominees - though he almost forgot Years & Years - and paid tribute to the young musicians in refugee camps.

"We'd like to dedicate this to all the young men and women musicians in refugee camps around the world," he said.

"They could be us, and we could be them, so we send them our love."

Coldplay earlier performed their song 'Hymn for the Weekend' to open the show.
