Adele has shown public support for Kesha, after a court refused to release the 'Tik Tok' singer from her record contract with Sony Music and producer Dr Luke.

Accepting the award for British Female Solo Artist at the Brit Awards 2016, the 'Hello' singer ended her speech: "I'd like to take this moment to publicly support Kesha."

Kesha's application for a preliminary injunction - which would have enabled her to record music without Dr Luke's involvement - was denied earlier this week.

She has accused her producer, whose label Kemosabe Records she is still working under, of harassment and sexual misconduct. He has strenuously denied the allegations.

Taylor Swift recently gave $250,000 to Kesha following the court ruling, and she has received messages of solidarity from stars including Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande and Lorde.
