Niall Horan may have spent most of his time on a golf course since One Direction went on hiatus at the start of the year, but it looks like he's finally got serious about this debut solo album of his.
The Irish singer has been in the studio with Grammy-winning songwriter Greg Kurstin, who most recently helped Adele co-write her massive hit 'Hello'.
Apparently, Niall's record label bosses want to make the most of his songwriting talent by teaming up with "some brilliant people", according to The Sun.
He's said to want to move away from "boyband stuff", which is why he has teamed up with Greg to create a new sound for himself.
Greg Kurstin has also written huge hits with the likes of Sia, Pink, Britney Spears and Katy Perry. Not too shabby really.
Meanwhile, Niall has yet to tell us who he has signed a record deal with.

The latest rumours suggest that he may have declined an offer from Simon Cowell and gone with a rival label at Universal Music.
"Writing is always something I've enjoyed," Niall told Digital Spy back in May. "I've written with a few of the lads I've made relationships with down the years so I've been able to call up someone, 'Do you wanna write? Yeah, cool, let's go in the studio and write.'"
As for the other One Directions boys: Harry Styles has signed a huge new deal with Columbia Records, while Liam Payne has jumped over to Capitol Records.
Zayn has already put his debut album Mind of Mine out through RCA after leaving the group early, while Louis Tomlinson is taking a more behind-the-scenes role by putting together a new girl group.
