However, it kind of came back to bite her when a follower questioned why she hasn't spoken up about the Black Lives Matter movement and police brutality in America over the past few weeks. Selena, of course, had a response to that too. Although she has since deleted it.
CHLOË GRACE MORETZ
Despite once saying she has zero interest in being a part of Taylor Swift's Squad, Chloë Grace Moretz has nonetheless come to her aid in her time of need. That being said, it wasn't a shield against Taylor's actions, but rather more a critique on the inward looking perspective of celebrity culture.
RUBY ROSE
Although former Orange Is The New Black star Ruby Rose hasn't directly addressed the whole Taylor vs Kim saga, she did disapprove of Khloé Kardashian's take down of Chloë Grace Moretz's response. Stick with us.
So, after Chloë GM criticised the whole feud by tweeting that these huge stars should get "their heads out of a hole and look around to realize what's ACTUALLY happening in the REAL world", Khloé responded with a very graphic picture of an "a hole" that seemingly belonged to Chloë. It turns out it doesn't, but that didn't stop Ruby from voicing her disapproval.
MARTHA HUNT
Forget Charlie, it's Victoria's Secret's Angels putting the world to rights these days. Supermodel Martha Hunt was quick to voice her support for Taylor Swift following Kim's Snapchat videos, taking the same stance as fellow Squad member Selena Gomez.
TEAM KIM
KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN
Being the most outspoken member of the Kardashian family, there was no way Khloé was going to keep quiet amongst all the mud slinging. However, Taylor wasn't her target on this occasion, instead it was Chloë Grace Moretz.
We've already covered the Kick-Ass star's reaction to it all (as well as Ruby Rose's disapproval), but Khloé defending her sister is quite possibly the dirtiest clapback deployed so far. Even if the response isn't totally accurate. In short, the "a hole" Khloé posted on Instagram isn't actually of Chloë. Awkward.
KENDALL JENNER
In some respects it's quite a surprise that Kendall has reacted to this whole feud at all, as she shares quite a few mutual friends with Taylor Swift. Hey, T-Swizz even had her come out on stage during her Hyde Park show in London last summer.
But as Keeping Up With The Kardashians aired last night with the damning evidence that Taylor Swift was seemingly untruthful about her involvement in Kanye West's 'Famous', Kendall's likes on Twitter were all of praise for sister Kim's exposé.
CALVIN HARRIS
It was little under a week ago that Calvin Harris was in the spotlight calling out Taylor Swift for everything on Twitter, and while he hasn't directly responded to the latest instalment of the saga, his follow count on the social platform indicates he's had enough of one side at least.
Pretty much immediately after Selena Gomez said her piece in defence of Taylor Swift, Calvin unfollowed her on Twitter. Ouch. No messing around there.
DEMI LOVATO
Demi and Taylor haven't really seen eye to eye much over the years, most recently disagreeing on the response to Kesha's ongoing legal battle against Dr Luke. But in this instance, Demi has also taken a stand against Taylor's Squad by unfollowing her former Disney comrade Selena Gomez.
What's more, Demi gave a pretty strong indication to which side she's on by liking a tweet which declared "I LOVE KIM KARDASHIAN" after the now infamous Snapchat story was posted. Demetria doesn't mince her Twitter likes.
PHARRELL WILLIAMS
Now here's an unlikely twist. Who expected Pharrell Williams to poke into this whole saga? Of course the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter hasn't got a megaphone out and aired his views, but he did like a tweet that suggested Taylor Swift is "a disgrace to humanity".
Okay, he most certainly liked it more for its comedy value, as it sees former Celebrity Big Brother housemate Tiffany Pollard describe one of her housemates as "a disgrace to humanity and a disgrace to women who are actually beautiful" under the title "How do you feel about Taylor Swift?" In fact, it kinda makes us want to know what Tiffany does actually think about this whole mess. Pharrell obviously felt the heat pretty quickly after liking the tweet though, because he has since un-liked it. What a world we live in.
And just when you thought this whole ordeal couldn't be more absurd, Justin Bieber comes along to be the neutral voice of reason - however odd he may sound in this slightly eerie Instagram post following all the commotion. Whisper it now: "Less hate. More love."
