Speaking to the Daily Star, the songwriter behind the likes of 'Best Song Ever' confirmed that and Niall are in the early stages of the process.
"We are writing together but he wants to do it for himself and not other people at the moment. We have no idea where we'll end up," Hector explained.
He later teased to BBC Newsbeat that Niall's solo music is not the only thing to be excited about from the 1D boys.
"I've heard that Harry's stuff is supposed to be phenomenal. Niall is really gifted musically and is a great guitarist," Hector noted.
The songwriter has also been responsible for Westlife's 'Flying Without Wings', JLS's 'Beat Again', The Wanted's 'Glad You Came' and Olly Murs's 'Up' with Demi Lovato.
Before any solo music from Niall though, he's set to face off against Louis Tomlinson for Soccer Aid, and the two have already started the smack talk.
