The producer took to Instagram to tease the release of new material by the singer, who died in a plane crash in 2001 at the age of 22.

Timbaland first worked with the star on her second record One in a Million before becoming her frequent collaborator along with Missy Elliot.
Aaliyah released three albums in her lifetime: Age Ain't Nothing But a Number (1994), One in a Million (1996) and Aaliyah (2001).
The late singer was the subject of a controversial biopic last year, which was criticised for its poor casting as well as its depiction of Aaliyah's relationship with R Kelly.
