Coheed and Cambria have announced their first non-concept album The Color Before the Sun.

The band's eighth studio collection is due to be released on October 9.


Fans can also stream new single 'You Got Spirit, Kid' before its digital release on July 10.

Band member Claudio Sanchez commented: "I've always said in the past that there's never been a limitation on the band.

"It makes no sense to me to draw a line in the sand and never cross it."

The Color Before the Sun, produced by Jay Joyce, was recorded at St Charles Studio in Nashville.

The band are hitting the road later this year, appearing at several festivals including Hevy Fest 2015 in Kent on August 14.
