Katy Perry's management have flatly denied that the recently-registered track '1984' is anything to do with Taylor Swift.
Online speculation began when the song was registered on BMI, with some claiming that the name could be a reference to the title of Swift's most-recent, chart-topping album 1989.

It is widely assumed that Perry is the subject of Swift's current single 'Bad Blood', after the star confirmed that it was written about a fellow female artist who she is "straight-up enemies" with.
However, a representative for the 'Teenage Dream' singer's label Universal told Digital Spy: "Katy Perry's managers at Direct Management Group confirm that this story is completely false.
"Katy Perry was not involved in writing, singing, recording or registering this song."
