Metalcore band Asking Alexandria have announced Denis Shaforostov as their new lead singer.

Shaforostov replaces former frontman Danny Worsnop, who left earlier this year to join rock group We Are Harlot.

Shaforostov confirmed the news on Instagram, where he expressed how "happy and proud" he was to become the band's newest member.

"I'm extremely happy and proud to announce that now, I'm officially a part of such an incredible band and family," he said. "I'm beyond excited for this new, unbelievable chapter of my life, though it still feels so surreal!

"I can't even begin to explain how stoked I am about new Asking Alexandria and our new album. Ben [Bruce], James [Cassells], Sam [Bettley], Cam [Liddell] and me have been working on it very hard for the past couple of months, and we couldn't be happier with the result.

"We've put our hearts and souls into this record. It's done for YOU. Trust me, it's something absolutely mind-blowing, and I'm sure it's going to please every single member of the 'AAFamily' - those who've been with the guys since day one, and those who just recently joined this strong and unbelievably supportive family!"

Shaforostov previously fronted Ukrainian band Make Me Famous.

Asking Alexandria also shared their first song with Shaforostov, 'I Won't Give In'. Listen to it below:
