Dark forces take over in Muse's new track 'Mercy'.
The band have unveiled the latest song from their new album Drones with a chilling animated lyric video, showing images including a trio of sinister hooded figures and a person sitting at a desk receiving electric shocks.
"The opening line of 'Mercy' - 'help me, I've fallen on the inside' - is a reference to the protagonist knowing and recognising that they have lost something, they have lost themselves," Matt Bellamy explained.
"This is where they realise they're being overcome by the dark forces that were introduced in 'Psycho'."
'Mercy' is the third Drones track to be unveiled, following on from 'Psycho' and lead single 'Dead Inside'.
Drones - the band's seventh studio album - was co-produced by Muse and Mutt Lange, and is released on June 13.
