Jamie Foxx has been sued over the lyrics and instrumental in his song 'Party Ain't a Party' less than a week after its release.

Nontra Records filed a lawsuit on Thursday (September 18) alleging that the instrumental used in the track was originally sent to musician J Rand, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

DJ Mustard - the producer of the song - and guest artist 2 Chainz have also been named alongside Foxx in the dispute.

Nontra Records claims that J Rand and Poe Boy Music Group - his record company at the time - received the instrumental from DJ Mustard, and that it acquired the rights to the song after buying J Rand's contract.

The complainant added that it believes many of the lyrics in J Rand and Foxx's versions are "identical" to each other.

The lawsuit states: "Specifically, the underlying material and Jaime Foxx's lyrics contained in the Subsequent Work are identical to the lyrics sung by J Rand in the sound recording of the Original Work."

DJ Mustard's legal representative commented: "DJ Mustard did not grant any rights to a third party to exploit the recording 'Party Ain't A Party' and, accordingly, this claim against DJ Mustard has absolutely no merit."

Nontra Records is seeking upwards of $150,000 (£92,000) for copyright infringement.
