The popstar was introduced by Key 103's breakfast DJs Mike Toolan and Chelsea Norris.
"It's a great big celebration for us tonight. And to celebrate in an iconic location like Coronation Street, with Ed Sheeran, has been fantastic," said Norris.
Sheeran - who described performing on the iconic set as "random, but so much fun" - released his new album x on Monday, after topping the charts with latest single 'Sing'.
